Report Summary The first Scientific Follow-ups session for the 2026/2027 academic year focused on the future of jobs, reviewing key labor market transformations driven by artificial intelligence, the green transition, and economic shifts. According to the World Economic Forum's 2025 report, 170 million new jobs will be created against 92 million displaced by 2030, with growth concentrated in AI, data analytics, and renewable energy, alongside a shift in core skills affecting 39% globally and 49% in Egypt. The WEF outlined four global scenarios ranging from rapid innovation to human-tech partnership, while the ESCWA and ILO report presented three Arab regional scenarios through 2035, emphasizing a balanced approach. Consequently, the Institute of National Planning can enhance its impact through foresight studies, executive training, and strategic partnerships, as the primary challenge lies in institutional readiness to manage transition through skills development and modern education policies.
