فى هذا الكتاب إن الإعتماد على الذات فى إنتاج الإحتياجات المحلية من السلع الزراعية والغذائية يعد من الأهداف الأساسية التى تأمل أى من الدول فى الوصول الية إلا أنه وفى غالب الأحوال تقف محدودية الطاقة الإنتاجية للقطاع الزراعى حائلاً أمام الوصول الى هذا الهدف وفى ظل هذا الموقف تلجأ الدول إلى تظيم الإستفادة من مواردها الزراعية المتاحة من خلال الإستفادة من مزايا التجارة مع الدول الخارجية فى السلع الزراعية والغذائية حيث تصدير السلع الزراعية والغذائية التى تتميز فى إنتاجها بوجود الميزة النسبية والتنافسية فى الأسواق الخارجية وإستيراد غيرها من السلع التى تتميز فى إنتاجها بميزة نسبية أقل أو غياب مثل هذه الميزة. In this book, self-reliance in producing local needs of agricultural and food commodities is one of the basic goals that any country hopes to achieve. However, in most cases, the limited production capacity of the agricultural sector stands in the way of achieving this goal. In light of this situation, countries resort to organizing the use of their available agricultural resources by taking advantage of the advantages of trade with foreign countries in agricultural and food commodities, such as exporting agricultural and food commodities that are distinguished in their production by the presence of a comparative and competitive advantage in foreign markets, and importing other commodities that are distinguished in their production by a lower comparative advantage or the absence of such an advantage.
