dc.description.abstractAn Inventory Problem exists when it is necessary to stock physical goods or commodities for satisfying demand over a specified time. Almost every business (or country) must stock goods to ensure smooth and efficient running of its operation. Decisions regarding the quantity ordered and the time may thus be based on the minimization of an appropriate cost function that balances the total costs resulting from over and under stocking.The issue of inventory can usually be solved in dynamic programming, especially if the purchase price changes during the planning period, i.e. What is the best scheduling for production that gives a lower end to the costs of production, storage and disability?This research presented two methods for optimizing the dynamic programming of inventory scheduling to linear programming and transport models to facilitate the solution in complex dynamic programming methods. The researchers applied these methods to strategic stocks of wheat in Egypt during 1995 - 2004.
