Abstract

This analytical study focuses on the vertical expansion of agriculture in Egypt according to the first five-year plan. The paper begins with a review of the agricultural conditions in Egypt before 1952 and the measures taken by the revolutionary government to develop agriculture. The current paper analyzes the programs aimed at vertical expansion, which include three main programs: soil improvement, the improvement and diversification of field crops, and the improvement and diversification of horticultural crops. These programs aim to enhance agricultural productivity and diversify crops to achieve substantial progress in the agricultural sector during the first five-year plan. Programs related to horizontal expansion will be analyzed in a subsequent paper.

تتناول هذه الدراسة التحليلية جوانب توسع الزراعة الرأسى في مصر وفقًا لخطة الخمس سنوات الأولى. بدأ البحث بمراجعة حالة الزراعة في مصر قبل عام 1952، والجهود التي بذلتها الحكومة الثورية لتطوير القطاع الزراعي. تركز الورقة الحالية على دراسة البرامج التي تهدف إلى التوسع الرأسي في الزراعة، والذي يشمل ثلاثة برامج رئيسية: تحسين التربة، تحسين وتنوع المحاصيل الحقلية، وتحسين وتنوع المحاصيل البستانية. تهدف هذه البرامج إلى تحسين الإنتاجية الزراعية وزيادة التنوع في المحاصيل لتحقيق تقدم ملموس في القطاع الزراعي خلال الخطة الخمسية الأولى. سيتم تحليل البرامج المرتبطة بالتوسع الأفقي في ورقة لاحقة.
