dc.description.abstractThis paper aims at reviewing some interesting applications of operations research concepts and techniques to problems of national planning, and evaluating the advantages gained and the difficulties encountered in the use of these techniques. The paper is not intended to be a comprehensive survey of the subject, a task which would cover several large volumes. It is rather an investigation, through a number of practical example of the potentialities and limitations of such applications, drawing mainly on experiences in the U.A.R.en_US
dc.description.abstractتهدف هذه الورقة إلى استعراض بعض التطبيقات المثيرة لمفاهيم وتقنيات بحوث العمليات على مشاكل التخطيط الوطني، وتقييم المزايا المكتسبة والصعوبات التي تم مواجهتها في استخدام هذه التقنيات. ليست الورقة مقصودة كاستطلاع شامل للموضوع، وهو مهمة تتطلب تغطية عدة مجلدات كبيرة. بل هي تحقيق من خلال عدد من الأمثلة العملية حول إمكانيات وقيود مثل هذه التطبيقات، مستندة بشكل أساسي إلى التجارب في الجمهورية العربية المتحدة.

Who we are

Institute of National Planning (INP) was established by Law No. 231 of 1960 as a think-tank public institution with an independent legal personality to enhance the theory and practice of planning in Egypt through: research, training and educational activities. Also, INP aims at providing technical support to Ministry of Planning, as well as to all national ministers and institutions, through spreading a culture of planning in Egyptian society.
