Abstract

حتى عام 1952، كان معظم التركيز منصرفًا إلى الزراعة، بينما شكلت الصناعة جزءًا صغيرًا من الدخل القومي. أدى النمو السكاني السريع إلى تفاقم مشكلة محدودية الأراضي الزراعية. واجهت حكومة الثورة هذه التحديات بزيادة الاهتمام بالصناعة، حيث تم تنفيذ مشروعات صناعية عديدة، ووُضعت خطة خمسية أولى في 1957 للتنظيم والتصنيع. وفي 1960، أُعلنت خطة تنمية اقتصادية شاملة من مرحلتين (1960-1964 و1965-1969) لتطوير الزراعة والصناعة ووسائل النقل والخدمات الصحية والتعليمية. هدفت هذه الخطط إلى مكافحة البطالة وزيادة فرص العمالة، مما أدى إلى تحسين استغلال الموارد وتنويع الأنشطة الاقتصادية.

Until 1952, most of the focus was on agriculture, while industry accounted for a small part of the national income. Rapid population growth exacerbated the problem of limited agricultural land. The revolutionary government met these challenges by increasing attention to industry, implementing numerous industrial projects, and a first five-year plan was drawn up in 1957 to organize and industrialize. In 1960, a two-stage comprehensive economic development plan (1960–64 and 1965–69) was announced to develop agriculture, industry, transportation, health and education services. These plans aimed to combat unemployment and increase employment opportunities, which led to improved resource utilization and diversification of economic activities.
