Theoretical Problems in Regional Income Accounting/المشاكل النظرية في حساب الدخل الإقليمي

Abstract

This paper addresses the challenges faced in regional planning in Turkey, particularly in the Bursa region. Although the importance of regional planning as an adjunct to national planning is recognized, the lack of accurate income data at the regional level poses a major obstacle for planners and researchers. The paper illustrates the theoretical differences between national and regional accounting systems, citing an attempt to analyze the income structure of the Bursa region. Bursa is characterized as an important agricultural area and an industrial center, covering approximately 10,894 square kilometers with a population of about 695,099. The income model employed in the study utilized a simple double-entry accounting system, but the attempt to ascertain the disposition of income had to be abandoned due to a lack of data and resources.
