Abstract

Industrialization is considered a fundamental aspect of economic development in developed countries, with a strong correlation between industrialization and higher per capita income. Many economists view industrialization as the key to, and measure of, economic development due to its positive effects on education, skills, lifestyle, and innovation. Industrialization also creates new demands and provides new technologies. Historically, the spread of industrialization in advanced economies has contributed to narrowing the income gap between industrialized and non-industrialized countries. However, the apparent relationship between higher per capita income and industrialization cannot be conclusively determined without identifying the cause and effect in this relationship.
